A RESOLUTION HONORING BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBER Jo Williams For many years of dedicated service to Anderson County Schools covering the County from Claxton to Bull Run. Whereas, Jo Williams has devoted nearly 30 years of dedicated service to Anderson County Schools, first serving for many years as Secretary to the Director of Schools and then as a member of the Anderson County Board of Education from November 2007 through August 2026; and Whereas, through her extensive service, Jo Williams has developed exceptional knowledge and expertise in school board policy, governance, and school system operations, providing valuable institutional knowledge, thoughtful leadership, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to the students and schools of Anderson County; and Whereas, Jo Williams’ commitment to public education extended beyond Anderson County through her distinguished service with the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA), including serving as an At-Large Member of the TSBA Board of Directors in 2018 and 2019 and as East Director from 2020 through 2021; and Whereas, she also served as a TSBA Awards Judge for the Student Achievement Award and was recognized as a Level V Master School Board Member in 2012, named an All Tennessee School Board Member in 2017, and received the TSBA Scholars Circle Award in 2019; and Whereas, Jo Williams played a tremendous role in the planning and development of the new Claxton Elementary School, bringing her experience, knowledge, vision, and commitment to a project that will serve generations of Anderson County students; and Whereas, her nearly three decades of service, including 19 years on the Anderson County Board of Education, have left an enduring mark on Anderson County Schools and will continue to benefit its students, educators, and communities. Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Anderson County Board of Education hereby expresses its deepest appreciation and sincere gratitude to Jo Williams for her nearly 30 years of dedicated and distinguished service to Anderson County Schools and for her lasting contributions to public education in Anderson County. Adopted wholeheartedly and unanimously by the Anderson County Board of Education in regular session on August 13, 2026.
