Vision and Mission
Anderson County will exemplify excellence and equity so that, upon graduation, all students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully pursue their chosen paths in life.
Parents,
In Anderson County Schools, we are committed to developing, challenging, and supporting every student, every day.
Our students consistently perform at high levels both in and out of the classroom. Our parents are actively engaged in the learning process, and our business and civic communities strongly support our schools. In short, Anderson County is a great place to live, learn, and raise a family.
I have lived in Anderson County my entire life and have dedicated the past thirty-three years to serving our students and community. My service includes roles as a teacher and administrator in Anderson County Schools, as well as volunteer work providing backpacks and school supplies to students in need.
I hold a Doctoral degree in Educational Administration from Tennessee State University; an Education Specialist degree and a Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College. Additionally, I completed over 50 hours of mechanical engineering coursework at Pellissippi State Community College and a machinist apprenticeship at Y-12 Union Carbide Corporation in Oak Ridge prior to entering the education profession.
For the past nine years, I have served as Director of Schools. Previously, I served as Director of Secondary Education, Director of Career and Technical Education, Deputy Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Principal, and classroom teacher. My academic preparation, combined with strong occupational experience and a deep commitment to the children of Anderson County, has prepared me to lead our school system as a servant leader.
While we are proud of our accomplishments, we recognize there is still work to be done to ensure all students are prepared to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. For this reason, our five-year strategic plan focuses on four core areas designed to support continuous improvement and student success.
- Student Success
- Exemplary Educators
- Communication
- Financial Accountability
As Director of Schools, I am committed to keeping students at the center of every decision. I look forward to working alongside our students, families, staff, and community to ensure a successful school year and a strong future for Anderson County Schools. Please feel free to reach out to me at tparrott@acs.ac with any questions or concerns. My office is always open, and I welcome the opportunity to meet with you face to face.
Sincerely
Dr. Tim Parrott
