Director's Welcome

Welcome to Anderson County Schools' Website

Thank you for visiting our website. Anderson County Schools has long been recognized as a great school system focused on the success of every student. This is evident in both our Vision and our Mission:

Vision and our Mission:
Anderson County will exemplify excellence and equity such that upon graduation all students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to successfully embark upon their chosen path in life.

Dr. Tim Parrott
In Anderson County we will Develop, Challenge, and Support every student every day.

Our students perform extremely well both in and out of the classroom. Our parents are engaged in the learning process and our business and civic communities actively support schools. In short, Anderson County is a great place to live and raise a family.

I have lived in Anderson County my entire life.  For the past twenty-three years, I have dedicated myself to the success of our students as a teacher/administrator in ACS and as a volunteer within our community, supplying backpacks and school supplies to those in need.

I hold a doctoral degree in Educational Administration from Tennessee State University; a Specialist in Education degree and a Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College. I also completed over 50 hours in mechanical engineering classes at Pellissippi State Community College and a machinist apprenticeship at Y-12 Union Carbide Corp. in Oak Ridge before entering the teaching field.

I have had the opportunity to be in leadership positions at the district level for the last seven years as Director of Secondary Education, Director Career and Technical Education and Deputy Director of Curriculum and Instruction. My academic background, integrated with a strong occupational experience and my dedication to the children in Anderson County, has prepared me to lead our great school system as a servant leader.

While we are proud of our success, we still have work to do to ensure all of our students have the skills needed to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. This is why our five-year strategic plan focuses on four core areas:

As your Director of Schools, I commit to the students, parents, and the community that I will make sure we keep students at the center of all decisions. I look forward to a great school year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Tim Parrott
