Opportunities at My School

There are numerous ways you can support education in Anderson County. Every school has parent involvement activities and organizations needing your valuable expertise and input. Check back to this page for updates of activities in the schools listed below. Several of our elementary schools have special reading weeks in which parent volunteers are encouraged to read their favorite story or poem in an elementary school classroom. Check back here frequently to find about the next reading week at your school.

There are also volunteer opportunities... like     LUNCH BUDDIES!

Several of our schools have begun the "Lunch Buddies" program. "Lunch Buddies" is an opportunity for parents and members of the community to volunteer their time, by spending one lunch break a week with a student. Lunches typically last about 30 minutes and students have the opportunity to spend quality time with a caring adult. Currently, "Lunch Buddies" has about a dozen volunteers and is looking to double that number this year. For information on how you can help, contact David Allred at 463-2832or fill out and return an application.
