Technology: Math Concepts
Activity: Read the big book "The Wind Blew" to students. As you read you talk about what
items were blown away. The umbrella plus the balloon. How many items has blown
away? (1+1=2) Umbrella plus balloon plus hat(1+1+1=3)or(2+1=3). Keep reading the
story and stop and talk to students and make addition word problems and solve them as
you go. You can also make one-one correspondence connection. "Rooster's Off to See
The World" book is also a good book to use for this activity. You can write the number
problems out for the students to see as you read the story. You can use the worksheets
that the Teacher's Helper Magazine provides to re-teach and for enrichment activities.

and/or Animals
