Activity:
Have the students make separate cards with the x, =, and numbers on them. Then have the students role- play number sentences. One student hold a number card,
another student the symbol, and a third student another number. Have the group solve the
multiplication problem. Continue with different students and number cards.
Theme Ideas:
Multiply the number of firefighters at each fire station to determine the number of
firefighters employed by the city. Fireman's hat could be drawn on the cards instead of
using numbers.
