Activity:
On 36 cards write the numbers 1-18. Mix, and deal them face down to a pair of players. Have each student turn over the top card. Then have the student with the larger number subtract the smaller from it. If the difference is correct, that player wins both cards.
If the answer is not correct, the other student can win the cards by solving the problem.
The game ends when one player has all the cards.
Theme Ideas:
On 36 cards write the numbers 1-18 and add a weather symbol (example - snowflake).
Do this in the month of January when the students are interested in finding snow days.
