Activity:
After watching a television weather report, record predicted inches of snow fall for five
counties. Then total the estimated snow fall inches for the five counties. Then compare
the predicted snow fall with the estimated snow fall to actual measured snow fall. (How
close was the estimated snow fall to actual snowfall? Was each county's prediction
correct?)
Theme Ideas: Since students are always looking for snowy days off from school they love to
watch the weather reporter on television. Make the weather forecast into a math lesson.
