Activity:
Give the student various lengths of yarn and a toy animal. Have them pretend that the yarn is a fence to go around the animal. Have them determine if the
animal can "escape" by determining whether the yarn is long enough to be a closed curve.
Discuss the answers.
Theme Ideas:
Discuss the different shapes of animal shelters and the importance of keeping animals safe
from different types of weather.
