Activity:

The teacher draw lines on the chalkboard to represent different patterns. The student used their toothpicks to make and extend the pattern.

Theme Ideas:

An extension of this activity would be to let the students make a pattern for another student and have that student copy and extend that pattern with their toothpicks.
