Materials: Baby Ruth candy bar

Activity:

Give each student a Baby Ruth candy bar. Have the students divide the bar into two equal parts. Then have the student divide the parts again. Discuss one of two equal parts (halves) and one of four equal parts (fourths).

Theme Ideas:

To be used with the unit on Heroes. Discuss Babe Ruth as an athletic hero. To expand the use of fractions, use the Hamburger Fraction Game. Introduce it as a Hero Sandwich!
